A Drive to Tamhini Ghat, The Fifth Wettest Place in India.

Known as india's fitft wettest place Tamhini Ghat is one place that is sure to keep you spellbound.A mountain passage that cuts through Sahyadri, it is the patch that connects Pune to the Konkan area. Visiting the place during monsoon would give you ample of exciting and awesome scenes to capture. Placed at the crest of the Sahyadri, the whole area lights up with beautiful waterfalls and an experience of beauty you would love to cherish for the lifetime.

Pune in itself is a place that makes you want to go back again and again and i am sure each of you who has been to this place and has lived there, you know the magic the place holds. Tamhini ghat is one of the best places around Pune that you can visit during weekends and it sure provides you a glimpse of the best in nature with the parched land around turns into a green carpet with flowers blooming, the hills half covered with mist and stretched across the sky like giant walls, the waterfalls trickling down the hills and the shadows playing mysterious games with your eyes and the monsoon rains making you dance with its flickering trance. Near this greenery land is a small temple of Vanjai hidden amongst the valley and its vegetation. Driving towards its will sure make you relive a dream of passing through a fairy land.

During monsoon you can see the area at its greenest best and turns out to be a feast to your urging eyes. Another awesome addition to this beauty is the Mulshi Dam that resides right next to it and it is there to give you a twist of backwaters and river rafting experiences. You are sure to catch a gander of landscapes that surprises you at each turn with its fantastic sights. The dam attracts a lot of tourist from far and wide especially the young crowds. Do not be surprised to watch people jostling each other and getting totally drenched here because where is the fun if you do not become one with the nature. I assure you, no water park in the world could give you the amount of fun you enjoy here with the cold gushing water and the rocky hills.

There are various small stalls around the Tamhini ghat and Mulshi Dam area where you can get a bite, try out the delicious roasted corn, salty boiled nuts and a hot cup of chai. After getting drenched and all that fun you had, a hot cup of coffee will definitely feel like heaven and walking on a road less travelled.

You can reach Tamhini ghat either from Mumbai or Pune. It would be around 150 km from Mumbai and 90km from Pune. The nearest railway station and airport would be in Pune as the place is not connected with any rail road. Hire a cab from Mumbai or Pune and go to this place during one hot summer weekend. There are also resorts around the area if you would like to get away from the urban life and be one with the nature for a day.

Travel back in time and let the monuments tell you the story of its glorious past. No matter how you describe, you soon run out of words to tell about this stunning surreal beauty. Situated near the banks of Tungabhandra River, the place has everything to offer you. Get a taste of hippie culture in its Hippie Island, enjoy a coracle ride, enjoy some quality time with Laksmi, cliff jump with the local kid, get dazzled with the fort like entrances and walk down the memory lane by cycling around the long lost fortresses.

Our journey to this mystical land of ancient forts and palaces started on March 2015. Never did we think that the place would give us so much happy and cherished memories. 

I met Natasha just a month ago and we were already making plans to few of the most epic places on Earth. Till then i never heard the name Hampi nor did i ever think it would be so marvellous. Never did i think that within few weeks of meeting i would be making plans with Natasha for an all-girls trip to an unknown land. 

I was so glad i met her because till then i never met a girl who was as crazy about travelling as i am. 

It was my first self-financed trip and it will be the best till my mind still works sane.

Stories of a Mingled Life!

Roshni- She kept staring at the computer for hours but her thoughts were elsewhere. Life isn’t fair every time and she was the victim of time, she picked up her bag and left. It’s time to act and take a stand before they crush her beyond her strength. Time to make a change and fight back

Pooja- She never realized what it would feel to be crowned the princess of beauty but now when she is standing at the podium with the admirers all around, she doubted if it at all is her biggest achievement. She smiled along but inside she was void, because she lost all in getting to this point.

Rohan- Helpless is the only word that could describe his situation. He knew he have to do this else there is no future. He took the last drag like it was his last breath. His dad was waiting anxiously at the footstep wondering if he would come. He said, “Let’s go and clean my system Dad”.

Varsha- She sat by the window wondering what made her to become a person like this. She crossed beyond the limit only because she loved him. The blood in her hands cannot be washed off no matter what. She cannot make him love her now; no matter what she does, but she realized it too late.

Asha- When she stepped into his home she knew this is a world she must live like she was born here. She didn’t know then whether she should be happy or sad, it was just the 1^stday. 30 years since then she looked around her small but happy family and tears came to her eyes.

The British Museum was established in 1753 and is largely dedicated to human history and the culture of the various nations that British ruled. It has a collection of 8 million works which are kept permanently is display. It is the largest museum which has in details the history of human kind from its beginning to the present and not just of those of England but from every continent. They are collection of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. It was 1^stopened for the public in 1759 and has been extended and enlarged since then to the present building. It is a non departmental public body which is being sponsored by Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Why visit

It is the largest museum and if you want to visit one visit while being in Londonthis must be the one. It has a comprehensive existence that illustrates and documents the culture of various people all round the world. There are also few objects which have grabbed much intense controversy as the rightful owner or the rightful country wants it to be where it originally belongs; notably the Elgin Marbles from Parthenon. It is a fantastic opportunity of the visitor to view some very distinct and unique archaeological relics and is an offer to explore the ancient world within the building.

What to see

You can explore wonders from lands of India, Greece, Aztecs, China, Egyptand every country that comes into your mind; the list just goes on and each object is a sight to see. Few of the mythological figures of Romans like the statue of Apollo; Artemis such other Gods and Goddess belongs to the early 1^stcentury and are very unique. Some of the important artifacts like the Rosetta stone, the Sutton Hoo treasure and friezes of Parthenon are worth mentioning. The museum remains open from 10am to 4.30pm and during Friday opens closes at 8.30 pm. The entry to this wonderfully huge museum is free of cost.

The museum is wheelchair accessed and is no problem for anyone to visit. Together with that they also provide audio tours and study tours for groups and there is also an online database within the museum which has 2,000,000 individual object entries of which 650,000 are illustrated in brief. There are also precious books and manuscripts which are now kept in the British Library.
